Next generation fall prevention

Do you have residents with Alzheimer's or Dementia? Do they forget they need help getting out of bed?

upBed silent bed exit detector is proven to reuce falls in memory care facilities for residents with alzheimer's and dementia.
upBed is a silent bed exit detector that provides early warning of a bed exit and notifies staff through your nurse call system.

Here is how upBed works

upBed is a soft anklet worn by the resident while they sleep. upBed detects when the resident begins to exit the bed and alerts staff through your nurse call system (pagers, dome lights, etc). Staff then enter the room, assist the resident, and acknowledge the alert. The resident hears nothing.

upBed is helping communities reduce the risk of falling for "frequent fallers", where no other solution has helped. It's more accurate than a bed pad, completely silent, and provides an earlier detection of a bed exit.

Get to residents before they fall using upBed.

The anklet is made of a soft and washable material. It’s secured using velcro and a small locking strap. Inside the anklet is a sensor that measures the movement and angle of the resident’s ankle. Put the anklet on the resident while they are in bed.
The hub is a small box that sits in the resident’s room. It is paired with the anklet. The hub receives data from the anklet and decides when the resident is leaving the bed. The button on the top of the hub lights up in the event of a bed exit, and the hub alerts staff through nurse call. Staff press the button on the hub to acknowledge the alert.
upBed alerts through your nurse call system, so the resident hears nothing. Staff receive and respond to the alert in the same way they would a call bell.

upBed is easy to install

Once alerted, the hub light turns "green". Staff receive the alert through nurse call (call bells, pagers, etc). Staff enter the room, and press the button on the hub to acknowledge the alert. upBed is ready to use again when the resident lies down.
